Before buying a new car gets past the "just thinking" stage you need to run a Credit Report on yourself.

Get a report from ALL THREE of the Agencies just prior to the start of your search.

Why is this so important?

Because different Lenders and banks utilize different agencies.  By getting a report from the three major reporting agencies you are pretty sure to cover the one your lender is using.  You need this to insure that the lender is placing you in the right financing program.

Your desired Credit Report score is 620 or higher.  If your score is under 620 it is unlikely you will qualify for the best rates and terms...but, Unless it real low, you should still be able to get credit, just not at the ideal rate and term.
