FREE ...New Car Buying Guide
|
|
ADVERTISEMENT Make buying your new car fun by purchasing through government & surplus auctions!Every month, 1000s of cars become government property through seized and foreclosure laws. Since there are so many cars in these government auctions, and the enormous costs for storage, these cars must be sold fast and cheap! By completing a simple search right here you can take advantage of these great cars of all kinds. |
Do not start by going and visiting your dealership...It's ok to visit their Lot after hours.
You want to submit an on-line inquiry.
Let's back up a little...I'm assuming that at this point you've ran a credit report, on yourself, at the three big Credit Reporting Agencies (have written copies of the report) and that you have found one or more new car models that you are interested in.
Ok...now you're ready to submit your on-line inquiry.
You can go to the actual website of the car company and run their reports and pricing...stop short of submitting that request to their dealers.
What you really need to do is go to the following sites and request information on the Make(s) and Model(s) you are interested in.
Visit all four of the above service providers (Different dealers may have different arrangements with each of these. Some dealers may have arrangements with one but not with the others)
Give them an email address to contact you
Give as much information as possible regarding your request. (Location, options, models, accessories etc.)
Contact your Insurance Agent or go to XXX.PROGRESSIVE.COM
Go on line and start looking for sources of financing
At this point you do NOT want to give them your phone number...make one up if you must submit one. If they do look you up and call you, tell them that you wish to do ALL Communication via email. If a particular dealership has a problem with this, cross them off your list. (Make sure you let them know that because they can't comply with your wishes you will NOT do business with them and you do NOT want them to call you again)
Do NOT let them make quotes or offers over the phone...you want a hard copy of everything thus you want it via email or faxed to you. You can then digest it at your leisure employ the help of others to look for missing or misleading information.
You now have emails from the providers (above) and you've should have already received an email from one or more dealerships. You now need to email the "Internet Sales manager" at the dealership(s)) of your choice. (Remember you already have "ballpark" quotes from the providers (above).
Here's what your email to the Internet Manager should (at a minimum) contain...
Once again list the Model with options and accessories
Inquire if they have the new car on their lot
If not...ask them about availability
Ask for a price quote on the exact vehicle you want
Let them know that you have ALREADY contacted other dealerships
Let them know that you are ALSO actively looking at other brands of new cars
At this point do NOT let them talk you into coming to the dealership to look at the cars for any reason at all!!! Remember...you still are communicating via email and, for the time being, you want to keep it this way.
If they email you asking you to come on in to look at the models, colors etc. Just ignore the request and send them an email asking what the Invoice or Wholesale is for the vehicle you're interested in. Once they give you this figure (via email) you email them back asking how close to invoice they are willing to sell you the vehicle.
After a few email exchanges you should end with a price for the exact vehicle you want, with the options you want and in the color you want.
Compare this price to the ones given you by the above service providers. It's best to be doing this with more than one dealership...you can compare them and see whose up front an honest and who's playing games.
eMail each dealership that you're still corresponding with and make an appointment to test drive EVERY vehicle that you received a price quote on. They will email you back with the date, time and person with whom you'll be meeting.
Step Number Seven...The New Car Test Drive
IMPORTANT NOTE...
You want to keep printed copies (also save them on your computer) of all emails between you and the Internet Sales Manager. this is concrete proof of a legitimate offer...if at any point they try to back down of these written offers or try to pull a switch on you...DROP THEM HOTTER FASTER THAN A HOT POTATO!
VERY IMPORTANT...I don't care if you're so excited about this vehicle that you're in danger of wetting your pants...you must appear cool, distant and non-anxious to the Internet Salesperson.
